Aim

This qualification reflects the role of housekeeping attendants working in commercial hospitality establishment.

Outline

  • SITHACS001 Clean premises and equipment

  • SITHACS002 Provide housekeeping services to guests

  • SITHACS003 Prepare rooms for guests

  • SITXWHS001 Participate in safe work practices.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for entry to this qualification, however FNTC has the following selection criteria for this course:

  • As part of the course you will need to be able to communicate effectively in English and, have sound literacy and numeracy skills. A Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment must be completed to ensure course requirements can be met.

Elements

This program will provide a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. It provides the opportunity for specialisation in accommodation services.

Delivery Method

Face-to-face classes, Port Douglas.

Outcome

Students successfully completing all the listed competencies will achieve a Statement of Attainment for the Housekeeping Skills set.

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion  participants will be qualified to seek employment in a range of hospitality environments including:

  • Housekeeper in various commercial facilities

If you choose to further your hospitality career with a SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality, the units covered in this skill set may count towards the electives that need to be completed as part of your course or traineeship. Duration

The course will be conducted over a minimum of 4 weeks on site in a resort or hospitality establishment.
