CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Home and Community)

Person-centred care & support

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support now offers one course but with specialty areas including Ageing, Home and Community. This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.


Core Units Compulsory

  • CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being

  • CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services

  • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people

  • CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically

  • HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems

  • HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care.

Elective Units: Ageing

  • CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people

  • CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia

  • CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs.

Elective Units: Home & Community Care

  • CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people

  • CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs

  • CHCCCS025 Support relationships with carers and families

  • CHCHCS001 Provide home and community support services.

Elective Units: Disability Specialty

  • CHCDIS001 Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach

  • CHCDIS002 Follow established person-centred learning behaviour supports

  • CHCDIS003 Support community participation and social inclusion

  • CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with a disability.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for entry to this qualification, however Far North Training & Consultancy has the following selection criteria for this course:

  • The participant will be required before enrolling to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment to determine what level of support the participant may need to assist them through their study program. The participant must have current police check at enrolment.


Face-to-face in a small group training environment.

Awards Issued

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the Qualification:

  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Home and Community).


  • Course duration 6–12 months.

  • Vocational Placement is an essential component of the program with an expected 120 hours work placement.

  • Students will need to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week of independent research.
